This project is the largest monetary project CDOT has embarked on to date and will address the bottleneck at I-70 Floyd Hill to the Veterans Memorial Tunnels to improve travel time, rebuild bridges to today's safety standards, and construct a frontage road between US6 and Hidden Valley/ Central City Parkway. Project work includes updating raveling pavement along 7 miles of I-70, flattening curves, reducing grades, relocating CDOT's maintenance yard, improving drainage, lighting improvements, communications, and signage. RockSol staff are currently working as the CM team including Project Engineers, Inspectors and Testers. Some key aspects of the project include large rock cuts to help soften curves of the new alignment, a 120 foot tall viaduct, and careful consideration of the creek below to ensure construction work is not a detriment to the riparian zones. The project’s current completion date is the fall of 2028.
