Colorado Department of Transportation
Construction Management, Inspection & Materials Testing
Weld County, Colorado
RockSol was selected to provide construction management services for the reconstruction of the SH 392 / I-25 interchange in a blended team with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). This interchange is a major transportation component of I-25, making this a high-profile project for CDOT and Northern Colorado. The project involved bridge demolition over a high-traffic interstate highway, staged construction of a prestressed U-girder bridge, and construction of numerous stone-veneer-faced mechanically stabilized earth walls, cast-in-place retaining walls, earthwork, and aggregate column-geopiers. The project also included drainage improvements, utility relocations, concrete paving of SH 392 and I-25 ramps, and asphalt paving of relocated frontage roads, all on an accelerated construction schedule. RockSol, along with our subconsultants, provided contract administration, scheduling analysis, construction management, inspection and materials testing services. The fast-paced A+B bidding and contracting method was utilized by CDOT, and both incentives were achieve by the contractor through around-the-clock work and responsive cooperation amongst the RockSol team, CDOT and the contractor.
